The reason as to why I decided to choose the
theme of winter is because it’s something that appeals to me personal by the
colour scheme and the emotion that is conveyed amongst the images. While doing
my research into the winter theme I have found that winter can be portrayed in
many different aspects such as in fashion and scenery. Looking at fall winter
collection this year it is prominent use of pastel and bold textures which can
be related to the weather and all things winter. There are key aspects of
winter captured into seasonal fashion in the form of small beading embellishments
as well as faux and real fur. Some designers use landscapes as direct print on
to fabric; so it is easily understood as to what the design came from. While
doing my research I discovered that small symbols can be used on plain garments
to draw the eye to the designer or brand. Winter colour schemes aren’t just
used in the seasonal months but can be portrayed through spring/summer but the
use of the colour, texture and print. Finally, after doing this blog I have a better
understanding towards industry trends, how they can affect not only high street
but luxury brands; as well as how simple designs can be shown in affordable stores
such as Primark.
